FARMINGDALE, N.Y., April 28, 2011 — Cemtrex Inc. (OTC: CTEI) announced today that in light of recent EPA rulings regarding mercury emissions control, Cemtrex is seeing a big surge in the number of business enquiries and opportunities for its mercury monitor across a wide range of industries such as cement plants, utilities and industrial boilers.
In the history of the US EPA, 2011 is a landmark year as four major rules for control of mercury emissions have been published so far. They are: (i) the Boiler MACT [Boiler Maximum Achievable Control Technology]; (ii) the Cement MACT; (iii) the CISWI [Commercial Industrial Solid Waste Incinerators] MACT; and, finally, (iv) the Utility MACT for fossil fuel fired coal plants.
“In order to meet these rules before the approaching deadlines, the industry is starting to solicit proposals from mercury monitor manufacturers, and Cemtrex has received several such requests from large utilities and engineering companies,” said Mr. Ravi Narayan, Vice President of Business Development for Cemtrex. “With our state-of-the-art mercury monitor model, SM4, we are in the driver’s seat, since the average of a monitor is $150,000, and as per EPA estimates, there are over 60,000 facilities that are being impacted by these regulations across the USA.”
Mr. Narayan explained that in the last few years there had been installations of mercury monitors by several companies and they all faced serious issues due to their long sample lines of typical length from 200 to 500 feet, which drastically affected the reliability and accuracy of the entire system. Their monitors were not stack mountable. Cemtrex’s SM4 monitor is stack mountable and uses only ten feet of sample line, which eliminates all issues associated with the other models in the market today. Cemtrex’s SM4 monitor can also be used by the stack testers across the country as a transportable unit, which they would require to conduct emissions measurements on a periodic basis in thousands of facilities starting from this year.
Cemtrex Inc. is a worldwide market leader in manufacturing and selling the most advanced instruments for emission monitoring products for the industry. Cemtrex also markets Green DCV, an innovative energy efficiency solution for high-quality green commercial buildings, through optimizing HVAC control systems.
